April 3rd, 1920 - February 13th, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harvey Frank Jones announce his passing at the A.M. Guy Health Centre in Buchan’s, NL on February 13th, 2017 at the age of 96.Harvey retired from the Department of Highways and he was also a member of Lewisporte Masonic Lodge #14. Harvey was predeceased by his parents John and Gladys Jones, sisters Marion and Vera and son-in-law Cyril. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories Pearl, his wife of 73 years; daughters Betty (Cyril - deceased) of Badger and Verna (Gary) of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn are his sister Betty Campbell (Shelburne, NS), 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff at both Hollett’s Retirement Centre and A.M. Guy Health Centre for all the care they had provided to Harvey. Verley Roberts will conduct the funeral service at the United Church in Badger, NL on Monday, February 20th, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at the Badger Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Armstrong, Bert Hayden, Neil Hurley, Ray Fudge, Harold Noseworthy, and Hubert Hollett. Honorary pallbearer is Bruce Pittman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Interfaith Cemetery Fund.
