Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Marjorie Butt can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

1923 – 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marjorie E. Butt announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on August 28, 2016 at the age of 94. Marjorie was a member of the Salvation Army. She was predeceased by her husband Maxwell; parents, George & Fanny Ryan; sisters-Neta Compton and Julie Chipp; brothers-Bill Ryan, John Ryan and Jim Ryan; sons-in-law Donald Adams and Malcolm Curtis and parents-in-law, Francis & Emma Butt. Left with fond and loving memories is her sons-Alvin (Yvonne) of Springdale and Gary (Michel) of Toronto; daughters-Elsie of Edmonton, Delphina of Edmonton, Mona (Tom) of Springdale and Denise of St. John’s. Also leaving to mourn are 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother-in-law George Butt and sister-in-law Ella Moore. Major Lindsay Oxford will conduct the funeral service from Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on Thursday, September 1 at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery in LaScie. Pallbearers are Mike Tilley, Alvin Butt, Grog Ryan, George Ryan, Tom Gavin and Larry Butt. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
