Edward Richard Power (Neddie)
August 23, 1940 - December 13, 2015
It is with sadness that the family of Edward Power (better known as Neddie) of Springdale, NL, age 75, announce his passing on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his home in Springdale.
Neddie was the first child born to Fred and Mildred Power. He was raised in St. Patrick’s in a loving home along with 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
During his first marriage Neddie was blessed with 3 children whom later blessed him with 6 grandchildren. Neddie shared the last 30 years of his life in Springdale with Marion. Together they enjoyed many activities such as getting their wood for the winter and hunting. They also enjoyed helping his brother and sister in law on the farm each fall harvesting vegetables. He loved anything that involved the outdoors.
Over the years Neddie worked in many professions including mining, logging and construction. But it was not the places he lived or the jobs he had that defined the man we know as Neddie. It’s the love, concern and compassion he had for everyone he knew. Neddie cared about everyone he ever met and if possible, he kept in touch with them. If he heard someone was sick, he either called to see how they were or he went to visit them. Even during his own sickness he was always more concerned about others than himself. Neddie has been blessed with many friends throughout his lifetime and will be sadly missed.
His battle with cancer is over and he is now safe in the arms of his Lord. Through it all his faith never wavered.
Neddie has been blessed with a large circle of relatives and friends.
