Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Norma Hayward can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

just memories

Two things stand out in my mind....one is the number of times I would answer my phone and Norma would be on the other end....just calling unexpectedly to chat or to say she was passing through. Sometimes we would chat for 30 minutes or more.  We always shared a laugh or two.

The other is about Newhooks General Store.  Norma, as a young girl know what was going on in The Cove.

And when cousin Gail (me) went to visit she heard it all.  One story was about one's name.  She told me that if Mrs Newhook didn't like your name she would call you dearie, darling or something else but not your name.  It soon became apparent she didn't like the name Gail.

I will never forget the day Norma and I cleverly got into the General Store's 'storeroom'with being detected, well we were in there long enough for me to see all the 'treasures' kept there by the Newhooks.  It was a real adventure.
