Obituary for Andrew Stanley Walach

Andrew Stanley Walach
Andrew was born in Lublin, Poland. His family escaped the German occupation of Poland during the 2rd World War, coming to Canada as immigrants through Pier 21 in Halifax, NS. He grew up in Hamilton, Ontario.
Holder of two university degrees. Third degree black belt in Shotokan Karate. Lover of all things nature. Fitness enthusiast and professor of math and science (Physics). A distinguished teaching career.
He was a dreamer and a lover. Quiet and shy with much wisdom, insight and humor if one would sit next to him and quietly listen.
He was a father who played, loved, spent time, taught and listened. A master of invention, he could fix anything with a bungee cord and some duct tape. Lover of classical music and CBC Radio.
A man who treated his wife and partner (Judi) – with so much love, patience, respect and kindness.
We grew up with vegetable gardens, many birds’ houses and compost heaps in our backyard.
Hydroponic tomatoes in our bay window to be eaten off the vine like an apple.
Camper trailers and canoeing, cabins and cross country skiing. Swimming in seaweed and jellyfish.
And oh the laughter, so much laughter. And most of all – love.
Andrew is predeceased by his soulmate and loving wife of 46 years, Judi Walach. Memories of Andrew will forever be shared by his son Peter, wife Lorraine and grandson Aaron; his daughter Pamela, her husband Billy Barter and granddaughter Mackenzie. As well, brother-in-law Ron Southcott and his wife Rita, their son Richard and his wife Lisa and their daughters Olivia and Isabella. Also their son Regan and his wife Christa. Predeceased by niece Rhonda Southcott. Also left to mourn is his brother-in-law John Southcott and his wife Margie along with their sons Keith and Douglas. Predeceased by his nephew Robert Southcott.
