The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jasper Lake can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

So saddened by your loss

Marion and family,

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jip's passing.  Jip was a wonderful man who epitomized the definiton of "gentleman".  Jip was one of the gentlest, humblest men I have ever met.  He took great pleasure from the "antics" of those around him and his laughter was clear proof of his joy.  I met Jip first in Bishop's Falls and heard from those all around me of the deep respect with which he was held. We moved to Grand Falls at much the same time and I was a proud member of "the crowd" which, happily, included you and Jip.  When you and I would present one of our wicked skits for our small group, Marion, he would sit beaming and take great pride in your gift of mimicry. Although I haven't lived in Newfoundland for many years, I have kept in touch with the events in your family and know that Jip took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and in the love or his grandchildren.  I know, too, that Jip was a man of quiet but steadfast faith.  I am praying for you all today as you perform your last loving but very sad ritual. I pray that God will uphold you and strengthen you and that you will take comfort from your resurrection faith as well as from the love and support of family and friends.  Much love and deepest sympathy my friend.
