Jocelyn Mary (French) Lane
September 25, 1952 - March 1, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jocelyn (nee French) Lane announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on March 1, 2016 at the age of 63 years. She was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Jocelyn had a son,Mark Anthony Smith (Danielle Judd).

Jocelyn was predeceased by her husband Bill Lane, her mother and father Sadie and Desmond French, her Mother-in-Law Elizabeth (Bet) Lane and Brother-in-law Gary Lane.

Jocelyn leaves to mourn her son Mark (Danielle Judd). Her two brothers Terence (Sherry), Jim (Karen), and two sisters Christine (Gary Parsons), and Cindy (Peter Reynolds). Two grand-children Aiden and Ryan, best friend Diane Corbin, Father-in-Law Bill Lane Sr., brothers and sister-in-law, Special family friends Dwayne (Amy) Goodyear and Darren (Gwen) Goodyear. Also left to mourn are several in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jocelyn graduated from Memorial University in 1981 and was employed at Carmanville School Complex where she taught for 31 years. Joce was heavily involved with the Army Cadets for almost twenty years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Her hobbies included cross-stitch, knitting, sewing and reading.

Carmanville became Joce’s home and she had many caring friends who made her feel loved and cared for, especially during her battle with cancer. She was
wife, mother, grandmother, friend, sister (in-law), aunt, Jocelyn was it. She was a kind, witty and loving person to all. She will be greatly missed.

Her family would like to thank the Hospital staff at Central Health (both Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor), Cancer Clinic, Daffodil Place, Dr. Nancy Culleton and Dr. Belbin, Jim Maidment at Central Funeral Homes, Ann Fewer and the Priests at the Roman Catholic Parish.

Interment will be at the Interfaith Cemetery. Urnbearer is son Mark Smith. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
